The multimedia competition is part of the 1st year commemoration of the Ampatuan Massacre

Over P120, 000 in cash will be given away for college students who will win the multimedia competition organized by the Freedom Fund for Filipino Journalists (FFFJ) in partnership with the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (UP CMC) this year.

This competition calls for the best poster, radio plug and short video that will imbibe the following themes:

  • Ending the culture of impunity
  • The media’s public service role
  • Democracy and the killing of journalists
  • According to Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility (CMFR) , the competition is organized “to encourage and enhance public awareness of the killing of journalists and the culture of impunity as part of the commemoration of the first anniversary of the Ampatuan Massacre,” in which around 32 journalists/media practitioners out of 58 victims were killed in Ampatuan town, Maguindanao.
